It is my belief that conventional medicine is often doing more harm than good. Too many tests are done, which lead to more unnecessary tests being done, which lead to decisions about whether a procedure should be done about something which would have been better left alone.
Medications and their side effects are only growing more powerful. It takes years to grow the list of serious reactions to medications. I remember an old doctor saying to me the only medications worth using were castor oil, digitalis and insulin.
But science is the world we live in, so it's all we've got, and God bless it. Those preventatives helped me cope for quite awhile.
I believe, however, that the team at Enzacta stumbled upon and/or had a flash of intuitive insight on the level of genius. And from what I've seen this product can do, I have no doubt that it will be the future of health care.
It's too good to believe, but so was electricity, which we now take for granted...
At the same time I was sick, I was planning to put my dog to sleep. She had a heart murmur and was coughing like she had smoked all of her life. I put her on PXP and on the fourth day she quit coughing and hasn't coughed since. I took her to the vet for confirmation - she has no heart murmur.

Okay, this is my favorite part of the story! :) I'll NEVER forget this day!

Then the lab rat trials started. One preventative after another. These are serious neurologic medications with serious side-effects and serious long-term effects on the body. I'm beginning to think I'm seeing to wrong doctor. But now it's gotten impossible to travel. The movement of the car stirs up the dizziness to the point of being unbearable. I'm officially housebound, and it's getting worse by the week. When I would open my eyes, everything was moving around so fast, it was frightening. When I would try to stand, the floor was moving so fast, I couldn't hold my balance. Think: Being on a small raft in the "Perfect Storm." I spent a total of 3 hours out of bed each day. I would wake each day wondering what horrible thing would happen: Would the floor drop out from underneath me? Would the bed do a horizontal or vertical 180? and how many times?
I started searching the Internet to see what this horrific illness might be. I won't bother you with the list of things I came up with but they covered the gamut. I happened upon a website for people diagnosed with migraine-associated vertigo and immediately knew that's what I had - now all I had to do was find a doctor to diagnose me, and figure out a way to get there. I remembered the Valium my doctor gave me to get into the MRI machine. I made an appointment with a neurologist, doped myself up and had my husband drive me. The neurologist looked at me like I was a freak, did a ton of money-making tests and sent me on to an ENT. The ENT looked at me like I was a freak, suggested that I have his money-making tests, but this time I declined. I did luck out though. He gave me the name of a neuro-otologist, who studied at Johns Hopkins. He didn't suggest any money-making tests - he immediately diagnosed me with migraine-associated vertigo. Yes!

I suffered from migraines as a young adult, which eventually went silent, meaning, I suffered with aura, but no pain. Many years later, during allergy season or after a viral illness I suffered with dizziness. The doctor always told me it was post-viral syndrome "nothing to be done - hopefully it will go away." Once after a very bad viral illness, I suffered with vertigo which was so bad I was in bed for six weeks. This time, I was left with a vague residual sense of constant rocking, which was to never go away. I had an MRI, which was normal. The doctor said, "labyrhinthitis, nothing to be done, hopefully it will go away." A couple of years later, I had a flu-like illness which had me in bed for a week. I was excruciatingly dizzy the entire time. As I recovered from the illness, I was left with residual dizziness which was to never go away. And this time it wasn't just rocking, it was 24/7 debilitating dizziness. Another negative MRI. Another "labyrhinthitis, nothing to be done, hopefully it will go away."

Has anybody else had migraine-associated vertigo? Janet Jackson was diagnosed with it last year.
I have suffered from a rare condition called migraine-associated vertigo for 7 years. This left me bedridden for two years, and housebound for another two. I spent an enormous amount of time, money, and suffering, (emotional and physical), before finding a diagnosis, only to be treated with heavy-duty, addictive, neurological medications, which left me feeling emotionally altered and taxed my major organ systems. hroughout my early childhood I suffered from migraine headaches. My mom got migraines too so she just gave me children's Tylenol and told me to tough it out. When I was 10 years old, I woke up one morning and I almost felt like I was still asleep and dreaming. I was still laying down in my bed and I held out my hands in front of me and they didn't feel like my hands, they felt like long skinny dry twigs. Every episode was accompanied with a strange feeling that at the time I didn't understand, but in retrospect I would call it an extreme-version of light-headedness, kind of like you're on laughing gas but highly uncomfortable and very scary. And every episode was followed by a killer migraine headache... An EKG, an MRI, and a couple of months later the diagnosis was I had an 'abnormal brainwave' which was 'triggered' when I had a migraine, causing hallucinatory side effects to my migraine. The doctor actually called it 'Alice In Wonderland Syndrome' saying that it was compared to how Alice felt while tumbling down the rabbit hole."
Has anybody out there experienced bizarre symptoms such as these, knowing or not that they were connected to migraine?
